Cycling for Street Art in Kuala Lumpur

KL isn’t the most beautiful of cities. Much of it is a bit dirty and it doesn’t have a big river running through it to create a centrepiece, but it is vibrant and quirky! We went to try and find the two murals from Ernest Zacharevic, one in Bangsar and one on the Wisma Allianz building just at the downtown end of Jalan Ampang.
The first, on the Wisma Allianz building was easy to find. Done in April 2014 its a pretty recent addition.

Moving on from here towards Bangsar past Holy Rosary Catholic Church...

…and then past traffic confusion in Brickfields due to double and triple parking by folks attending Mass at another church…

On Jalan Maroof, though sadly hardly discernible now.
Until Bangsar where, unfortunately, the mural on Jalan Maarof has virtually disappeared. It used to look like this:
but the greenery has either died back or been removed and there are only faint traces left

Heading back we came across a couple of other pieces:

and this one opposite La Vie en Rose Restaurant:

This one is painted on the end of a row of rundown shophouses which still look rather attractive and would make a great art gallery/museum/…you name it. Probably end up as more vacant condominiums :(
Here are a couple of other pictures…
