A good nights seep and then back on the road, heading up from Kingston towards Arrowtown, past the Karawu Gorge Suspension Bridge Bungee jumping centre – where the whole rubber band jumping craze began! And then on towards Cromwell. Stopped for a coffee at Goldfields Historical centre and got sucked into a tour. No regrets! The guide was knowledgeable, the other couple knew some of the history and they had a working stamping mill and jet sluice! Randi became addicted to panning for gold, though without any success! and the time flew by. We headed on to Cromwell, booked a bike trip on the rail-bike trail for a 45 km section and continued towards Clyde/Alexandra. Although there were some Freedom camping sites marked on the map, the one at Champagne Gully, shown as having toilets, turned out to have the toilet block locked up!. So we continued to Clyde and had an enjoyable hour wandering through the historic downtown buildings. We stopped for a beer at the local micro-brewery Pub, only to discover that they weren’t to start brewing on site until the following week!
